Dr. Jeff Cottrell (born 1963) is a composer, teacher and performer. He completed his Bachelor of Music (Cum laude) in composition, Masters in Euphonium Performance, and Doctor of Musical Arts (May, 2004) at the University of North Texas. Jeff studied Euphonium with Dr. Brian Bowman. While working on his degrees Jeff taught private lowbrass lessons in various North Texas public schools and continues to do so. Jeff is also the adjunct tuba and euphonium professor at Hardin Simmons UniversityHardin Simmons UniversityUniversity in Abilene Texas. Jeff's first love is composing and several of his pieces have been premiered by North Texas academic and professional bands. In addition to composing and teaching he enjoys performing in several area bands. Since 1991 he has performed with Dash Riprock and the Dragons locally and throughout the United States.
